Neuroimaging is a broad class of technologies and includes many sorts of analysis frameworks. This micro-credential will provide an overview of neuroimaging tools and a hands-on introduction to analyses of brain imaging data. We motivate each topic with a specific use case, for example: “how can neuroimaging be used to assess stroke and guide treatment?” We then discuss how we can use neuroimaging technologies to acquire data and perform analyses that help address each example. Topics will cover structural and functional neuroimaging, and highlight the many technologies that exist in this space.
Foundations of Neuroimaging: Introduction to structural (CT, MRI) and functional (fMRI, fNIRS, MEG, EEG) neuroimaging technologies
Probing & Quantifying Brain Structure: Deeper dive into structural neurotechnologies (CT & MRI), and what these technologies can reveal about brain structure in epilepsy
Leveraging Functional Neurotechnologies with High Spatial Resolution: Explores how blood-based measures of brain activity (fMRI & fNIRS) can provide insight into spatial aspects of brain function
Leveraging Functional Neurotechnologies with High Temporal Resolution: Explores neurotechnologies with high temporal resolution (EEG & MEG), focusing on localizing the origin of measured brain activity and estimating functional connectivity between brain regions
